Former Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami (SAN) has denied allegations linking him to terrorism financing, calling them baseless, misleading, and politically motivated.

In a statement, Malami said he has never been accused, invited, interrogated, or investigated by any Nigerian or foreign agency over terrorism financing.

He explained that the publication mentioning him relied on a retired military officer who did not accuse him but only made vague claims about some suspects having “business or institutional” relationships with various individuals—claims Malami says were twisted into damaging insinuations by political opponents.

Malami stressed that terrorism financing is a serious crime and that accusations must be based on verified facts, not speculation.
