Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has denied allegations that he sought a third term in office, asserting that no one can produce evidence of such attempts.

Speaking at the Democracy Dialogue of the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation in Accra, he emphasized that if he had wanted a third term, he would have achieved it, especially since securing Nigeria’s debt relief during his tenure was more challenging.

Obasanjo warned against leaders who believe they are irreplaceable, describing such a mindset as a “sin against God,” and stressed that leadership is best suited to young, vibrant individuals who are willing to give way for others to lead.
