Governor Hope Uzodimma has received approval from the National University Commission (NUC) to establish the University of Innovation, Science and Technology in Omuma.

While this brings Imo’s total state-funded universities to four, the new university supports the state’s Skill-Up Imo Programme, which has trained over 50,000 young people in digital skills, aiming to foster entrepreneurship and drive the digital economy.

Gov. Uzodimma has in the meantime emphasized that the university is a strategic investment in human capital development and economic growth.
