Heartland Football Club of Owerri has entered into a partnership with Tom Sanders, an experienced football agent and consultant, to help showcase the club’s players and support the trading of talented footballers from the state.

At a press briefing held yesterday in Owerri, Heartland head coach Emmanuel Amuneke, Chairman of the Imo State Football Association, Barr. Ifeanyi Dike, and football agent Tom Sanders outlined the new direction for Heartland FC as the club seeks to export talent and improve its internally generated revenue.

Speaking to newsmen, Coach Amuneke noted that Heartland has a wealth of untapped football talent but has, for many years, struggled with proper player transfers. He emphasized that the club has not been generating significant income from player sales, which are crucial for sustaining and running the club financially.

Meanwhile, Tom Sanders, a Dutch football agent and consultant with 25 years of experience working across Africa, praised the quality of players he observed in the Heartland squad. He stated that the players possess strong potential and marketable quality. Sanders added that the partnership would bring in valuable expertise and experience to help refine and project Heartland’s talents to the international market.
