Imo State Government has ordered herders to cease open grazing by July 24, 2025, to promote peace and public order.
This was announced by the Commissioner for Livestock Development during a stakeholders’ meeting, emphasizing the need to prevent land destruction and ensure compensation for damages.
Recall Alhaji Shuaibu was appointed as the new leader of cattle herders in the state and tasked with ensuring compliance. So far, government has stressed that the policy will be strictly enforced after the deadline to maintain peace and promote development.
