The Imo State Government, in partnership with UC Berkeley and the US Market Access Center, has launched an ambitious initiative to place 100,000 tech professionals from Imo in global roles by 2026.
Central to this effort is ImoTalentHub.com, Africa’s first state-backed digital talent marketplace, connecting trained professionals in software development, AI, and design to employers worldwide.
This is part of the Skill Up Imo program, launched in 2022 by Governor Hope Uzodimma, which has already trained over 40,000 youths. The program aims to shift the state from an analogue economy to a digitally-driven, innovation-based economy, steering youths away from cultism and cybercrime.
