lawmaker representing Isu State Constituency, Kingsley Izurumba, has sponsored a motion urging the Commissioner for Trade, Investment and Commerce, Industry, Mines and Solid Minerals, Finance and Digital Economy, Petroleum and Natural Gas Development, as well as other relevant agencies and departments of government, to urgently convene a business summit/expo in Imo State.
According to him, the summit would serve as a platform to showcase the state’s numerous infrastructural developments and enabling policy framework introduced by the 3R Administration, with the aim of making Imo a thriving hub for business and investment.
Presenting the motion on the floor of the House, Izurumba emphasized that it represents a unique opportunity for the ministries and agencies involved to leverage the positive strides already made in Imo State. He noted that such an event would put the state in the spotlight while attracting local and international investors.
Speaking to newsmen afterwards, the lawmaker described the initiative as both timely and appropriate, highlighting that the state already provides key amenities such as electricity, good road networks, and improved security — all of which make Imo an attractive destination for business.
