Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) inaugurated a committee to oversee admissions for underage candidates who scored 320 and above in the 2025 UTME. The committee, comprising vice-chancellors, regulatory agencies, and education experts, will determine criteria for identifying exceptionally gifted candidates among the 599 eligible.
Candidates must score at least 80% in their school certificates and post-UTME, with results submitted by institutions by September 16 as Those scoring below 80 in the post-UTME will be disqualified.
The committee will meet in Lagos, Abuja, and Owerri to finalize selections by September. JAMB’s Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, emphasized transparency, fairness, and discouraging parental pressure or bribery to admit underage candidates prematurely.
