Nigeria’s Junior D’Tigress will face Hungary in the round of 16 of the 2025 FIBA U-19 Women’s World Cup in Brno, Czechia, after losing their final group game 79-61 to Portugal.
Despite a strong start with a 93-88 win over China, Nigeria suffered heavy defeats to Canada and Portugal, finishing third in Group B.
The team struggled with turnovers, poor defense, shooting inefficiencies, and free throw misses. Also, Portugal outperformed Nigeria in both field goal attempts and made shots, winning three quarters and ending the group stage with mixed results.
