Football Association (FA) are investigating Liverpool Women’s goalkeeper Rafaela Borggrafe for allegedly using discriminatory — reportedly racist — language towards a teammate during a pre-season training camp. Borggrafe, who joined Liverpool from SC Freiburg this summer, has not yet made an official appearance for the club.
Initially absent from the squad due to what the manager called an “internal issue,” Liverpool has followed FA protocols and reported the incident, expressing full support for the investigation while reiterating its zero-tolerance stance on discrimination.
Manager Gareth Taylor stated that the club is cooperating fully with the FA and maintaining a respectful approach to the ongoing process. Borggrafe remains eligible to play unless the FA decides otherwise before the upcoming match against Aston Villa.
