CAF president Patrice Motsepe has assured that the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will go ahead in Morocco despite ongoing anti-government protests in the country. He emphasized Morocco remains the only host option and vowed CAF’s cooperation with the government to ensure a successful tournament.

Motsepe also confirmed plans to revive the African Football League after its failed 2023 edition, stressing its importance for the continent’s football growth.

Since taking office in 2021, he highlighted CAF’s financial turnaround, with revenues quadrupling, a $9.48m profit in 2023-24, and a projected $28.45m surplus next year. He pledged continued investment in clubs, players, and national teams, alongside strict zero-tolerance for corruption.
