Mozambique has reaffirmed its defense relations with Russia after a visit to Moscow.
This is according to Mozambique’s Foreign Minister Maria Manuela Lucas who expressed concern over the Ukraine war but praised the resilience of the Russian people and emphasized Mozambique’s desire for a peaceful resolution.
She further highlighted the war’s impact on Africa’s food security and noted ongoing peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. On the other hand, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has assured Mozambique of Russia’s willingness to provide defense support to strengthen its anti-terrorism efforts, acknowledging ongoing threats in Mozambique and Africa.
