Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has been laid to rest in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, in a solemn Islamic funeral attended by dignitaries, family, and mourners.

The ceremony included full military honors, with Buhari’s body draped in Nigeria’s flag, military salutes, and a band playing.

Buhari, who served as Nigeria’s Head of State between (1983-1985) and President  between (2015-2023), was received from London at Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Airport by President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Governor Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina State, and other senior officials before being transported to Daura under tight security.
