Nigerian Education Loan Fund NELDUND has announced that applications for its student loan scheme have exceeded one million within less than a year of its launch on May 24, 2024, marking one of the largest take-ups for a government-backed social program.
According to NELFUND’s Managing Director, Akintunde Sawyerr, over N116 billion has been disbursed to students nationwide, he also highlighted that the milestone reflects the success of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda in expanding access to higher education and fostering national unity.
The program is committed to transparency, efficiency, and ensuring that all qualified Nigerian students, regardless of background, can access education funding without discrimination.
