Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has threatened a nationwide protest over rising insecurity, poverty, and the high cost of living.

In a statement, NLC condemned the government’s failure to secure lives and property, citing nearly 700,000 deaths from insecurity in a year and warning of potential famine due to farmers’ inability to access land.

The Congress called for urgent action, including declaring a state of emergency on insecurity and decisive action against criminals, especially armed herders and bandits. It further expressed concern over the worsening economic and social conditions, stating that Nigerians feel abandoned.
