Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has stated he would not trade their Community Shield victory, achieved via a penalty shootout against Liverpool after a 2-2 draw at Wembley, for a guaranteed Europa League spot next season.

The FA Cup holders, who won their first Community Shield, face uncertainty about their 2025-26 European competition status due to a demotion to the UEFA Conference League for breaching multi-club ownership rules involving owner John Textor’s stakes in Palace and Lyon.

So far, an appeal against UEFA, Lyon, and Nottingham Forest is pending with the Court of Arbitration for Sport, with a decision expected today, Monday.

In the meantime, Glasner has emphasized focusing on the celebration rather than the appeal outcome.
