Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy while addressing the 80th UN General Assembly, urged more countries to join Ukraine’s security coalition and step up pressure on Russia, stressing that Ukraine has no choice but to fight for its sovereignty.

He argued that international institutions are too weak to prevent wars, citing Sudan, Somalia, and Palestine as examples, and warned that global security now depends on alliances, strong partners, and weapons.

Zelenskyy accused Russia of using famine, child abductions, chemical threats, and attacks on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant as weapons, while also destabilizing Poland, Estonia, and Moldova.

He warned that weak responses are fueling a global arms race powered by artificial intelligence, calling for urgent global rules on AI in warfare. Ukraine, he said, has had to innovate with attack and sea drones to counter Russia.

Zelenskyy emphasized that stopping Russia now would be less costly than facing future disasters, urging world leaders: “Don’t stay silent—join us in defending life, law, and order.”
