Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has reassured the people of Ukwa East that his administration will not abandon any ongoing road projects.

In a statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Otti addressed concerns raised by the Ezumezu Ndoki Patriotic Association about stalled roadworks and the proposed seaport.

He confirmed that work continues on the Akirikaobu route and the previously abandoned Obohia road, now undergoing reconstruction due to drainage issues.

On the proposed seaport, Otti explained that although feasibility studies by Chinese partners are complete, funding challenges—especially the need to dredge 19.5 km—have delayed the project. He emphasized the importance of securing adequate funding before commencement.
