President Bola Tinubu has called for meetings of the Council of State and the Police Council on October 9, 2025, in Abuja to address rising insecurity and other national issues.
The Council of State, an advisory body with former leaders and governors, will meet at 1:00 p.m., followed by the Police Council at 2:00 p.m. to discuss policing and security operations. The agenda includes reviewing banditry, kidnapping, and communal violence, as well as the nomination of a new INEC Chairman
The meetings follow Tinubu’s return from a 10-day working visit to Lagos, where he engaged with investors and stakeholders on infrastructure, energy, and Nigeria’s blue economy, emphasizing unity and development.
