President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Joash Amupitan as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, following his Senate confirmation.
During the exercise, President Tinubu urged Amupitan to uphold the integrity of Nigeria’s elections and strengthen INEC’s capacity, expressing confidence in his integrity, dedication, and patriotism.

The newly sworn in chairman, Joash Amupitan, pledged to defend Nigeria’s electoral laws and uphold the Constitution.
He emphasized his commitment to ensuring credible, fair, and free elections, as mandated by President Tinubu, and stressed the importance of engaging all stakeholders.
