U.S. President Donald Trump has  received the inaugural Fifa Peace Prize at the world cup draw  ceremony in Washington DC .

The new award, created by Fifa president Gianni Infantino, recognizes individuals who have taken “exceptional and extraordinary actions for peace.” Trump, who has appeared publicly with Infantino frequently in recent months, was widely expected to be the recipient.

At the ceremony, Trump was presented with a trophy, medal, and certificate, and claimed he had saved “tens of millions of lives” through diplomatic efforts. He also praised Infantino and stated that the 2026 World Cup has already broken ticket-sale records as  The tournament will be co-hosted by the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
