House of Representatives Committee on Maritime Safety, Education, and Administration, chaired by Khadija Abba-Ibrahim has approved a 2025 budget of ₦774.77 billion for Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) on Monday during a session in Abuja.
NIMASA’s Director General, represented by Executive Director Chidi Offodile, reported a projected revenue of ₦774.66 billion, with ₦264.96 billion available for operations after federal remittances. Major revenue sources include freight levies, waste management, and ship registration, with new automation and a modular floating dock expected to boost income.
In 2024, NIMASA achieved 79% of its ₦467.4 billion revenue target (₦370 billion) with 87% recurrent and 51% capital expenditure implementation.
