Rivers State Government has inaugurated a farmer-herder committee to tackle clashes between farmers and herders.

During the launch in Port Harcourt, Secretary to the State Government Ibibia Worika, who chairs the committee, emphasized that such conflicts have caused loss of lives, displacement, and economic disruption.

The initiative, endorsed by Rivers State, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, aims to identify early warning signs, mediate disputes peacefully, and promote lawful and sustainable grazing and farming activities to ensure peace and coexistence in the state.
