Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has denied claims of a rift between him and lawmakers at both state and national levels, describing the rumours as “pure lies.” Speaking during the commissioning of the 28.4km Ahoada–Omoku Road, Fubara said he had never refused to meet legislators and had made every effort to engage them.
He explained that arranging such meetings was the responsibility of his predecessor and current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, as well as other political leaders, but the meeting had not yet been scheduled. Fubara said he avoided contacting lawmakers directly to prevent misinterpretations that he was trying to “divide the house.”
The governor urged the Speaker and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to ignore claims of hostility, reaffirming his readiness to work with them to maintain peace and stability in the state.
