Rivers United claimed a hard-fought 1-0 away win against Kun Khalifat at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, climbing to fourth place in the league standings. The match was tightly contested, with both sides struggling to create clear-cut opportunities in the first half  which saw  Kun Khalifat, who have been enduring a poor run of form, appeared sluggish and were unable to make the most of their home advantage.

The breakthrough came late in the game, when Maclyn Biokpo scored the decisive goal 11 minutes from full time, securing all three points for Finidi George’s side. Rivers United’s disciplined defending and quick counter-attacks frustrated Kun Khalifat throughout the match, preventing them from finding an equalizer.

Speaking after the game, Rivers United coach Finidi George credited the victory to the team’s defensive masterclass and overall solidity, praising the players for their tactical discipline and resilience.
