Singer Sean Kingston has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison for his role in a $1 million fraud scheme involving luxury goods. Convicted alongside his mother, Janice Eleanor Turner, who received a five-year sentence, Kingston used his celebrity status to obtain high-end items—such as a bulletproof Cadillac Escalade, luxury watches, and a large LED TV—by submitting falsified wire transfer receipts and promising social media promotion to sellers.

U.S. District Judge David Leibowitz ordered Kingston’s immediate detention, rejecting a request for delay due to health issues. Prosecutors also described him as a “thief and a conman,” exploiting his fame over several years. Prior this judgment, Kingston was arrested in May 2024 after a SWAT raid on his Florida mansion. Born in Florida and raised in Jamaica, he gained fame at 17 with his 2007 hit “Beautiful Girls.”
