Suspended Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has returned to her office in the National Assembly following its unsealing by the Sergeant at Arms and security personnel.
Her arrival Tuesday caused some drama, as she was initially resisted by security operatives who prevented her from entering the main building. Dressed in black and accompanied by supporters, she arrived shortly after the office was reopened, ending a six-month seal that followed her suspension in March over alleged violations and her sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
While the Senate is on recess until October 7, 2025, her return suggests she may soon resume her duties. Recall her suspension sparked widespread condemnation, and she had previously approached the court and attempted to resume sitting, both unsuccessfully.
