Inter Miami’s Luis Suarez, has  received a six-match suspension for spitting at a Seattle Sounders official during a melee after a 3-0 loss in the Leagues Cup final.

The suspension applies to next year’s tournament, with potential additional MLS penalties. Teammates Sergio Busquets and Tomas Aviles were banned for two and three games, respectively as Seattle’s Steven Lenhart also got a five-game suspension.

The incident followed Suarez putting Sounders’ Obed Vargas in a headlock, sparking chaos. Suarez apologized on Instagram, acknowledging his regret. This adds to his history of suspensions, including biting incidents and racial abuse allegations.
