U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that the 2026 FIFA World Cup draw will be held on December 5 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., shifting from an earlier plan to host it in Las Vegas.

The announcement was made alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who was allowed Trump to hold the Jules Rimet trophy, reserved for winners, and presented him with a ticket to the World Cup final at MetLife Stadium. The 2026 tournament, co-hosted by the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, will feature 48 teams.
