Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority NMDPRA
has urged citizens to remain calm and avoid panic buying, assuring that there will be sufficient petroleum supply during the peak period.
The agency confirmed that domestic supplies of products like petrol, diesel, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas LPG are adequate, sourced from local refineries and imports, and that hoarding or price speculation is unnecessary.
It also stated that the previously introduced 15% import duty on petrol and diesel is no longer in effect to help stabilize prices. The authority pledged to monitor the supply situation closely and ensure energy security, praising sector stakeholders for their cooperation.
