The Abia State Governor Alex Otti has pledged to sponsor the education of Michael Offorkaile, an Abia indigene who scored 367 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), ranking fifth nationwide.
Receiving the student, his parents at the Government House on Monday, Otti praised Offorkaile’s outstanding achievement and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to rewarding academic excellence.
The governor directed the Commissioner for Tertiary Education to work out the details of the support package and urged the student to remain focused and continue excelling in his academic journey. Offorkaile thanked the governor for the recognition and pledged to keep inspiring other students through academic excellence
