President of Dangote Group

Alhaji Aliko Dangote has announced that Nigerians will soon have the opportunity to become shareholders in his $20 billion refinery in Lekki, Lagos.

This announcement was made at the Global Commodity Insights Conference in Abuja, where Dangote emphasized his commitment to partnering with African governments, private investors, and institutions. He highlighted the importance of Africa refining its own petroleum products.

Dangote also touched on his company’s investment in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), aiming to promote clean cooking with a production capacity of 2,500 tonnes per day. Addressing concerns about monopolizing the sector, Dangote criticized those who have the means to invest in Nigeria but choose to do so abroad, adding little to the nation’s economy. He reiterated his commitment to investing in Nigeria and warned against allowing substandard products to dominate African markets.
