The Federal Government has approved Nigeria’s first National Organised Crime Strategy, a comprehensive framework designed to strengthen coordination, intelligence sharing, and collaboration among security agencies in the fight against organised crime.
Developed in partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the United States Government, and other stakeholders, the strategy targets crimes such as terrorism, drug trafficking, human trafficking, cybercrime, maritime crime, corruption, and illicit financial flows.
National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) Coordinator, Maj.-Gen. Garba Laka, said the strategy will enhance cooperation among law enforcement agencies, the criminal justice system, civil society, and international partners to tackle increasingly interconnected security threats.
