The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Osun State until Friday, July 31, 2026, due to complaints and large crowds at distribution centers.
Originally scheduled to end on July 28, the extension aims to allow more registered voters to obtain their cards ahead of the upcoming governorship election.
According to INEC Osun State, 322,822 PVCs, representing 62 percent of available cards, had been collected during the initial exercise that began on July 22. The commission also announced that PVC collection at Local Government Area offices will now run from August 1 to August 7, 2026, to accommodate the extension. INEC further urged all registered voters who have not yet collected their PVCs to take advantage of the additional period to exercise their civic rights.
