Group CEO of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), Bayo Ojulari, has stated that fixing Nigeria’s refineries has been challenging due to decades of neglect, despite significant investments.
He noted that efforts to revive refineries in Warri, Port Harcourt, and Kaduna are hampered by their old state. Ojulari further revealed that technical and commercial reviews have been completed, with plans to involve professional refining companies to improve operations.
He also mentioned leveraging NNPC’s stake in the Dangote Petroleum Refinery to diversify supply and ensure product availability. Since assuming his role five months ago, Ojulari emphasized the focus on sustainable refinery revival through the Incorporated Joint Venture model, underscoring that the government’s support is ensuring the right approach.
