Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ibrahim Abdullahi, has stated that the party is working on strategies to bring Peter Obi back into its fold.
He highlighted that Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, is a valuable asset and a product of the PDP. According to him, Despite electoral manipulations in 2023, Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, still secured over 6 million votes.
Recall that Before the 2023 elections, Obi, who was previously the PDP’s vice presidential candidate, left the party for the Labour Party, where he secured the sole presidential ticket. He contested against Bola Tinubu of the APC and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, winning twelve states including the FCT, but ultimately finished third behind Atiku and the winner, Tinubu, as declared by INEC.
