Tennis sisters Serena and Venus Williams have been handed wildcard entries for the Cincinnati Open, marking their first doubles appearance together since the 2022 US Open.
The pair had planned to team up at Wimbledon, but Serena withdrew after suffering a knee injury during her singles comeback. The Cincinnati Open runs from August 11 to 23, with the tournament potentially serving as another step towards Serena’s return to the US Open.
Serena, 44, is chasing a record-equalling 24th Grand Slam singles title, while she and Venus have won 14 major doubles titles and three Olympic gold medals together.
