Former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, now a senator, has urged the federal government to urgently deploy reinforcements to Sokoto to address a worsening security crisis caused by armed bandits, particularly in his senatorial district.
In an interview on national Television, he dismissed claims that political thugs morphed into bandits, citing no evidence from his tenure. Tambuwal also addressed economic financial crime commission (EFCC )investigations into alleged cash withdrawals during his governorship, calling them politically motivated and denying claims of N189 billion being withdrawn.
Looking ahead to 2027, he revealed his involvement in a national coalition to constitutionally oust the APC, rejecting notions of a purely northern plot against President Tinubu. He emphasized a broad-based alliance and declined to name a preferred presidential candidate, promising to reveal his choice later.
