TANZANIA’s SAMIA SULUHU HASSAN SWORN IN AS PRESIDENT AMID INTERNET BLACKOUT, PROTEST AND DEATH

Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan has been inaugurated amid ongoing unrest and a nationwide internet blackout following disputed elections.

Hassan, who reportedly won 98% of the vote, was sworn in despite the main opposition party, Chadema, rejecting the results and calling for new elections, alleging the vote was a sham.
