Sweden’s Armand “Mondo” Duplantis has made history in Tokyo by clearing 6.30m to set his 14th pole vault world record and win a third consecutive world championship gold.
The 25-year-old, already a two-time Olympic champion, sealed victory with 6.15m before thrilling fans with his record-breaking jump on his final attempt. The triumph extends his unbeaten streak to 37 competitions and marks his fourth world record of 2025.
Duplantis has now won every major gold in pole vaulting and is widely regarded as redefining the sport, with experts saying his limits remain unknown.
